The United Arab Emirates is in ONI's substantial category and is not on RSF's internet enemy list. The United Arab Emirates forcibly censors the Internet using Secure Computing's solution. The nation's sole ISP Etisalat bans pornography, politically sensitive material, and anything against the moral values of the UAE. Etisalat blocks Skype.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced the ban of all VoIP traffic as well.
In addition to Etisalat, the second ISP (du) also has been requested to filter content and block sites so the actual ISP will not matter anymore.
This will equal your choice of ISP again, also bear in mind that in the UAE the "choice" is more depending on the developer of your residential area than your personal flavor.
cheers, JJ
